Product Description

This density cubes set includes four solid metal cubes with hooks, made from brass, lead, aluminum, and steel. Each cube measures 32mm (1.25") on each side, and including the hook, each cube is 2" in height. Aside from the steel cube, each features a stamped element for easy identification. The set comes in a plastic snap-top storage case.

The hooks allow the cubes to be lifted from water or massed using a spring scale (5.0 to 1.0 Newton range recommended, not included). The set includes an instruction manual with background on density, specific gravity, and specific heat, plus three student activities with capture sheets and a lab practical quiz. Cubes have a mass between 50 and 400 grams. Designed for educational use with tolerances in the +/- 5% range. Some oxidation may occur due to the nature of raw metals and can be removed by scuffing.
